My work is done here.

Smells like Home.....

Look what has come to town...Saigon also has Pizza Hut and KFC, but the ingredients used and menus are a tad different than we are used to, but the Subway is EXACTLY the same as in the States. It was, I am sorry to say, one of the most exciting parts of the week.

We have a nest of baby birds on one of our balconies and one hatched this morning....

I kid. Amelia LOVES water like her older big sister, so Co Ty and I rigged up this mini-pool for her.

Not quite sure what we will do if we ever get posted somewhere cold......

It's Time

Monsoon season is upon us.....are you ready?

My littles

A &A - thank you for making me a mother - today i celebrate you both.

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)
i am never without it (anywhere i go, you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling)

i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet)

i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that is keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)

It's Mother's Day, dontchaknow?

And I am going to blame your darling granddaughters for getting sick and taking up my time in April for the fact that I didn't even get you a card this year - a card!

So here is my very public, very heartfelt thank you.

For taking me on adventures.

For teaching me to stand up for myself and my daughters.

For always standing by me when this is really what you may have been thinking..... For teaching me the importance of girlfriends.

For showing me how to embrace the humor in motherhood.

See you face to face in a month - xo, m

Anthem for Mother's Day

Do you have one? This is mine. Firework by Katy Perry.

I think it is fitting for Mother's Day.

Because that is what being a mom is like - being unsure, being scared and then igniting the light and being the best mom you can, right? Corny? Maybe. But this songs propels me forward on the treadmill like no other.

Whether you had a natural birth or a C-section, bottle feed or breastfeed, home school or co-sleep or work in an office, none of that truly matters at the end of day, does it? Especially today. Motherhood as a whole is simply amazing.

So I am sending this song out to all my fellow moms - my gift to you on Mother's Day. Whenever you need a pick me up, play this song, as loud as you can and sing out loud.

And if I ever get to choose a super power for real, I am totally going with boobies that shoot fireworks.

We were on a break....

Hello again.

April came in with its germs and doctors visits and sleepless night and took out the Page girls in a row - first Amelia, then me and then for good measure, Alli.

And before I knew it. BAM. May is here.

I have been so uninspired. I have started countless blog entries only to stare for hours (okay, maybe 10 minutes) at a blinking cursor until I give up. None of my recent pictures seem blogworthy. To put it into words, I was in a funk.

But today seems better, clearer, more focused.

I am here, we are all fine and getting back on track. I am putting on my big girl panties and getting this show on the road. Bring it summer.
